Description: 3 Lionel Train Sets: Elvis Presley- He Dared To Rock 50TH Anniversary set plus four additional cars, Union Pacific set, and MTA LIRR 175th Anniversary Set. I am hoping to eventually move to another room and use a table, but this is what I have for now, and I am grateful for what I have. Enjoy.

thay both good quality products but you have to remember lionel started it all i have 14 or 15 sets a few of todays lionel sets and a few prewar & postwar lionel sets one set i have is made by mth its the j class n&w 611 i got it from mth becsuse the j class 611 from lionel is alot more money the mth was alittle over $300.00 but i have to say if i only could have two sets to keep i would for sure pick 1 prewar & 1 postwarby lionel theres nothing like those days of lionel trains!!!

I love MTH! It’s simply the best way to run a railroad!

@p42Amtrak83 EXCUSE ME? Lionel COPIED MTH tinplate?! Have you no knowledge of the history of model trains? Lionel practically INVENTED tin plate! Also, this video is not comparing the same type of locomotive! If you want a fare comparison of the two, compare equivalent products! I’m not saying one’s better, I’m saying that this video is horribly biased!

@grizzleybearz282004 Lionel did start the industry of modle railroading, but MTH is passing them up with the starter sets. There legacy system is great, but it is horribly overpriced. MTH creates affordable locomotives, and Lionel TMCC sounds cheap because it has no start up sounds. If lionel still wants to create O gauge locomotives, they have a lot of catching up to do.

@kidwithanuke Aren’t American Flyer and Marx both defunct? I’m talking currently. There is no disputing the top 3 of all time, but MTH is the new K-Line.

O.k. I agree the MTH starter set is a little better than Lionel but, when you start comparing Lionel Legacy to MTH premier I think Lionel wins hands down.

eventually yall will run lionel out and MTH will shoot its prices sky-high and a piece of history will never come back…

Besides MTH dosent have a whistle that shoots out steam now does it >:3

I do like MTH though…but I think Lionel is better!

@p42Amtrak83 but MTH tinplate is a copy off of Lionel original tinplate.

If you ask me, MTH fills the void of K-line. Lionel bought out K-line, and now k-line doesn’t exist. MTH and Lionel Both have their pros and cons. Can’t we all just agree that they both make quality products?

Yes I totally agree, I just got back my MTH genesis when I got it last December. It took them almost an entire year to fix my sparking train. Thats way too long.

i think both of those are MTH sets

MTH makes reproductions of tinplate and MTH does it 1000 times better than lionel. Even though it isn’t original, MTH makes better sounds than any Lionel train ever made

I have to aggree with you. Lionel makes their vision line beautiful with their die-cast shells. MTH Premier is more affordable and MTH has better sounds. But if your looking for overall looks, I would go with Lionel Legacy.

I also think MTH does a better job with DCS than their TMCC/Legacy system. It looks more modern and can control Lionel trains too. To me I thin MTH is the best. Lionel copied off of Protosound, MTH Tinplate, and Realtrax. Overall I think MTH is the best
